Born on the Romney Marsh, Kent, England, Paul has studied wildlife and his surroundings from an early age. His early exhibitions featured paintings and drawings as well as glass engravings.
As a result of early successes, Paul turned professional in 1987. Since then his work as a wildlife and equestrian artist, and popularity world-wide, has gone from strength to strength.

To research new pictures, Paul has visited Africa annually since his first trip there in 1989/90. He has demonstrated, taught and lectured on painting and techniques for a number of years, and in that time has made numerous contributions to magazines and instructional books.

Paul's images were first published in 1990 and continue to be widely available as both limited and open editions. Collectors around the world eagerly buy his originals. Paul has had numerous successful shows in Africa, UK and the USA, where his last one-man show sold out on opening night.

Paul was a founding member, Past chairman and Fellow of the Wildlife Art Society, a society committed to fund raising for conservation and promoting wildlife art in the UK. Paul's conservation aspects are deep rooted and he has worked closely with wildlife charities, raising funds from the sales and auctions of originals and prints. Paul has strong links with the Born Free Foundation.

Paul's style of painting combines two schools, that of impression, together with the realism needed to paint wildlife. Every brush stroke evokes the atmosphere surrounding, and the feelings of each subject he paints. Hammer prices at auctions for images from the artist have been reaching, and often breaking records. "Morning Glory" £10,000, Bonhams 1997. "Cool Waters" £ 12,000. Christies 1998. "Water Hole Gang II" £ 8,000. Christies, 1998. "Playing With The Big Boys" £ 4,000. Christies, 1998. Other smaller images at Sotherby's range up to £3,000.

Paul's work continues to give pleasure to many serious collectors around the world and gives many the chance for unique investment potential in the area of wildlife and equestrian art. He was in a feature article in 1998, US Art magazine.

Paul has more recently been raising funds, via the donation of work. At the celebrity Ball in the Grand Hotel, Brighton, in aid of the Born Free Foundation, two images sold for £10,600. Another at the David Shepherd auction to aid Tigers at Christies in London raised another £2,900.

During September 1999, Paul was showing at the National Zoological Park, Washington DC. He has also been invited to paint at the Malilangwe Artists Trust in Zimbabwe. Adding to the ever-increasing art collection of Mr. Paul Jones. ( Dow Jones)

He has also recently been elected to full membership in the prestigious Society of Animal Artists, in America. This is something that was very welcomed.

Paul can be seen at numerous shows in the U.S.A. and Europe with many commitments over the next year, starting with his annual trip and show in Charleston SC plus the 2000, Southeastern Wildlife Art Expo and the Florida Art Expo in Lakeland in 2000.
