Being an artist of nature was inevitable for Galina. She was strongly influenced by her environment, having grown up in the Ukraine and studying art and architecture at The Russian Institute. She worked at the Institute on many different projects; everything from big city tourist stations to small country theaters and gardens.
She grew up with music. As a child she learned to play the violin and piano but really loves drawing best. Galina also had some theatre experience while in Charkov,Ukraine, once the capital of the Ukraine. Charkov is a large center of culture and education. She took part in painting large backdrops and costumes for the Theatre.
While employed there she began working on large silks as well as hot and cold batik. Galina also paints Russian lacquer miniatures such as broaches, rings and other jewelry. Recently, she enjoyed a sellout show. She also teaches and lectures on drawing, painting, composition and the history of art.
Having been in America for 15 years, she has continued her work in large silk batik on topics about India, Japan and Russia. Her primary subjects are flowers, birds, beautiful girls and nature.
